The Downtown Windsor Farmers Market is a public, not-for-profit seasonal initiative of the Downtown Residents Association taking place from May 28 to October 8, and is generously supported by the Downtown Windsor BIA, Caesars Windsor, the City of Windsor.
Comprised of farmers, artisans, food preparers, crafters and more, the Farmers Market prides itself on its exceptional standards and diverse offerings. In 2016, the Farmers Market will relocate to Pelissier Street, between Wyandotte Street and Maiden Lane, and will feature an exciting array of vendors. In addition to selling of farm fresh fruit, vegetables, produce and unique artisan food products, the Farmers Market will also exhibit arts and crafts vendors, non-food vendors, community booths, entertainment, food demonstrations, and other special events that attract the community to the Market’s fun and family-friendly environment.
The new location will position Pelissier Street and Maiden Lane as important public gathering spaces that significantly contribute to our vibrant and healthy community, while actively engaging more residents, visitors and businesses. Further, the new location will improve access to healthy local foods and support green jobs; serve an important need in an underserved area; and provide opportunities for downtown businesses, the hospitality industry and consumers to connect directly with local food producers and with the civic culture of downtown Windsor.
